The Basics: 2018 Textron Wildcat XX Sport

  • Engine: 998cc Yamaha 3 cylinder, Super ATV Stage 2 Performance Kit  Stainless Headers, 50% larger air box, performance muffler, Fuel Injection mapping giving 18 hp mid range gain. 142 HP according to Super ATV.  Easily turns over 9000 RPM.
  • Transmission: Team CVT with Super ATV Stage 2 Exterminator Clutch upgrades
  • Front Axle: Stock Lockable Diff, Front Sway Bar Removed, Shock Limit Straps
  • Rear Axle: Permanently Locked Stock
  • Tires: 30x10x14 Arimid Belted Terribites
  • Wheels: Stock Alloy
  • Suspension: Independent w/Fox Pro 2½ Inch Adjustable shocks with 18” Travel at the wheels.
  • Winch: 4,000lb Super Winch in a box portable winch.
  • Bumpers: Add on Accessory front and rear
  • Tire Carrier: No Spare just Glue Tread and Plugs
  • Roll Cage: Factory cage with front and rear window intrusion bars and 3 longitudinal top bars
  • Additional Mods: 

    Soft top, large storage bin in back with rack above it, flip up windshield

Best feature: Incredibly fun to drive!

Worst feature: Really annoyingly loud. (Performance Muffler rated 1dB quieter than stock though).

2022 Yamaha Rmax4 1000 LE

The Basics: 2022 Yamaha Rmax4 1000 LE Compact 4 seater 

  • Engine:Stock Yamaha 998cc parallel twin, 108HP, 97 ft lb torque, 11.2 :1 Compression Ratio
  • Transmission: CVT with wet clutch super smooth operation. No parking pawl but uses a lever operated disk transmission brake
  • Front Axle: Stock Lockable Diff.
  • Rear Axle: Stock
  • Tires: Stock 29x11x14 Rear and 29x9x14 front tires not suited for Desert Riding.  Went to square set up with 30x10x14 Arimid Belted Terribites all around
  • Wheels:  Stock
  • Winch: 4000 lb Warn Winch, In Dash, Wired or Wireless operation
  • Additional: Dash selectable Shock Adjust Switch: Soft, Medium, or Firm, Dash selectable Throttle control: Crawl, Trail, or Stupid (Sport), Back seats slide forward and are easily removable for gobs of storage, LE features: 7 inch Android screen with selectable digital ‘dials’ can even show elevation,  Magellan GPS Program,  Side Loaded an old version of Gaia GPS.

Best Feature:  Taking the Grandkids along. 

Worst features: 1600 Mile clutch maintenance PITA.  Local Yamaha dealer.
