Club Membership Information
There are 3 classes of membership: Single, Family, and Associate.
Single Membership – is for an individual member who is at least 18 years old. This membership entitles you to one vote as required and one door prize ticket (funds permitting) during the monthly meeting. You must be in good standing and must be present to win. Good standing is defined as having dues payment current. Dues, $25 annually.
Family Membership – entitles two members 18 years old or older who live in the same household to vote. You are entitled to two votes and two door prize tickets (funds permitting) during the monthly meeting. Members must be present to win, a single member of the family cannot cast the two votes. Both family members need to be present at the meeting to use the two votes. Members must be in good standing (dues paid). Dues, $35 annually.
Associate Members – are those members in who because of distance or other conflicts, are unable to participate in the business and events of the club on a regular basis. However, they wish to maintain contact and support the club. Associate Members are not entitled to vote or to hold office in the club. They are otherwise entitled to all rights and privileges of voting members. Dues, $15 annually.
Requirements
Prospective members must be at least 18 years old and be the registered owner of an operational four-wheel-drive vehicle or side-by-side. A valid driver’s license is required, along with meeting all New Mexico motor vehicle, financial responsibility, and operator requirements. All licensing and insurance coverage remain the responsibility of the individual applying for membership.
To stay involved and connected, prospective members should live in the local area so they can attend club meetings and participate in events.
Before becoming a full member, prospective members are asked to attend at least two club meetings and two club events. (This requirement does not apply to associate memberships.)
Membership approval takes place during a regular club meeting and requires a majority vote of current members. If the prospective member is present during the meeting, they will be asked to step out briefly while the vote is conducted.
Once approved, new members will receive a welcome package and will be asked to pay their membership dues. Dues may be prorated depending on the month you join.
All new members will receive a copy of the club By-Laws and are should read and be familiar with them. Members will also be asked to read and sign the Waiver and Release of Liability Form as well as the Video Release Waiver. To remain in good standing, all members are expected to keep their dues current.
Process
Complete the new membership application form and submit it to any active member of the club, or just bring it with you to the club meeting. If you can scan and email it back that works as well, you can send it to: admin@desertmountain4wdclub.com
