Who are we?
Our Club
The Desert Mountain Four Wheel Drive Club is a small off road club based in Alamogordo, New Mexico. Beginners and seasoned wheelers welcome. Membership numbers run around 15 to 20 people. The club was established over 30 years ago and has remained active over the years despite the changing times. We run all types of trails, with all types of vehicles, including side by sides.
Our Trails
We’re lucky to have a wide variety of trails in our local area, ranging from scenic, easy forest roads to challenging extreme rock crawling adventures. Many of our runs begin in an arroyo—sandy-bottom washes mixed with ledges and rocky sections that keep things fun and interesting. From there, we often make our way onto desert trails before looping back through the arroyo to return to our starting point. No matter your experience level, there’s a good chance we have a trail that fits what you’re looking for.
Our club is committed to creating a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone on the trail. While we love having a great time together, safety is always our priority. For that reason, we do not allow alcohol or other intoxicating substances during trail runs. Our goal is to make sure everyone feels comfortable, stays safe, and has a great time wheeling with us.
Club Members
We’re a fun, easygoing group with a wide range of backgrounds, brought together by a shared love of off-roading and exploring the trails. While many of our members are retired or former military, we also have some younger members and would love to see more join us.
Whether you’re new to off-roading or have been doing it for years, we’re always excited to welcome fresh faces. If you’re looking for adventure, good company, and a great way to get out and explore, come join the fun!
Interested in becoming a member contact us thru our Contact page or email. You can find more information about becoming a member on the Membership page.
Community Participation
We do participate in some community events, but our main purpose is to get together and go off-roading. Events include: parades, car shows, show and shines, and what have you.
