Cottonwood Trail

“I have not seen the Easter Bunny on the trail yet, but I’m still looking.”

Rated: 2-7
- Trail Length: 10 miles, but there are several routes you could take
- Elevation: From 4747 to 5298 feet
- Terrain Type: Sandy bottom arroyo with some ledges and rocks
- Major Obstacles: If you don’t take the by-pass there are 3 sets of ledges that can be hard
- Technical Ability: beginner to advanced depending on the trail
- Vehicle Recommendations: Stock 4×4 or SxS to locked up rock crawlers
- Elevated Hazard: Summer Monsoon season, rains can cause flash flooding, be extra careful in the summer.
- Comment: This trail area covers a lot of ground and if you don’t take the by-passes in some areas you will run into some good ledges. Overall it’s nice sandy arroyo bottoms, then you move up out of the arroyo onto some dirt roads. Some are better than others, there is a cool water fall to see if you can find it. There are a few hard trails located in the Cottonwood area so be careful that you don’t end up on one of those, but you can always turn around.
