Club History

The Desert Mountain Four Wheel Drive Club was established in 1994. The original founding members were: Mike and Cathy Holmberg, Monte and LaVerle Hoover,  Byron Starnes, John Spugnardi, Rich Paulus, and Roy Powers. The first meetings were held in the Yucca Elementary School off of first street. The first official run was May 1994 in Coyote Canyon lead by Roy Powers.

Over the years the club has seen many members come and go. Our military members stay around for a few years and then move on to another assignment. Some of these members find there way back to Alamogordo and take up residency here. Some of the residents of Alamogordo have been in the club for years. One person, Mike Holmberg, has been in the club since the very beginning.
