  • Comment: Joplin Ridge is a 3+ rated out and back route off the West Side Rd.  It’s about 4 miles south of the Burleson Ridge Rd cutoff.  It’s and out and back route through hungry looking woods and ends with a climb to the top of the ridge that offers good views and is a good spot for lunch.  Mostly dirt road with muddy spots after rains.  The last stretch of dirt has some pretty deep run off ditches in it that can be straddled.  The last climb is rocky.   I have seen Elk, deer, and wild turkey on it.

General Information:

  • Meeting spot for this trip would be at the Shell Gas Station at the intersection of Highway 82 and Florida Ave.
  • Joplin Ridge is off of West Side Road which can be accessed via High Rolls off of Highway 82 or on the upper end off of Sun Spot Highway 6563.
  • There is an area on the lower end of West Side Road that you can unload SxSs and air down, it’s a little ways up the dirt road section.
