Upper Coyote Canyon

“Let’s going wheeling already.”
-Brian
Rated: 5-6
- Trail Length: 19.4 miles round trip
- Elevation: From 4462 to 5183 feet
- Terrain Type: Sandy bottom arroyo with some ledges and rocks
- Major Obstacles: Ledges up to 3 feet on the main trail, and some rocky areas.
- Technical Ability: Novice with some spotting
- Vehicle Recommendations: 33″ tires, at least one traction device, some extra ground clearance, stock full size SxS
- Elevated Hazard: Summer Monsoon season, rains can cause flash flooding, be extra careful in the summer. NM pin striping, and to much go pedal.
- Comment: When you first enter the trail there is a few rocks to get over (Gate Keeper). There are plenty of ledges to play on, you can do the easy parts of the ledges or do the harder parts. If you do the trail how it’s intended it’s a good 6 rated trail. A few areas have by-passes. There are a couple of ways to come back from that area, some are longer then others. SxSs are plenty capable for this trail.
